Do I have to visit all of the bookshops?

Nope! You can visit one shop, a few shops or make it your mission to visit all 18. The CNY Book Crawl is designed so you can participate in whatever way works best for your schedule, your map and your book-buying stamina.

How does the passport work?

Pick up your CNY Book Crawl passport at any participating shop. Bring it with you as you visit each bookstore and have it stamped at every stop along the way.

How do I enter to win one of the raffle prizes?

You’ll receive one raffle entry for every participating shop you visit. The more shops you visit, the more chances you have to win.

To enter, make sure to hand in your passport at the last stop on your crawl. That shop will collect it so your entries can be counted.

Do I need to make a purchase to participate?

No purchase is required to participate in the crawl or receive a passport stamp. Of course, shopping small and supporting local bookstores is always encouraged and deeply appreciated.

Where do I get a passport?

Passports will be available at most of the bookstores during the crawl or you can download on the Facebook event page.

Can I start at any bookstore?

Yes! There is no official starting point. Start wherever you’d like and build your own bookish road trip from there.

What are the shops’ hours?

Each participating shop will have its own hours throughout the 10-day crawl. Some shops may also have special events, extended hours or pop-ups during the crawl.

Please check directly with the shops you plan to visit for their current hours and event schedules before heading out.

When does the CNY Book Crawl take place?

The CNY Book Crawl runs for 10 days - July 10-19. You can visit participating shops anytime during the crawl, based on each shop’s individual hours.

Can I turn in my passport if I only visited one shop?

Yes! Every shop visit counts as one raffle entry, so even one stop gives you a chance to win.

Where do I turn in my passport?

Turn in your passport at the final participating bookstore you visit during the crawl. You do not need to return it to the shop where you started.

What happens if I lose my passport?

You can pick up a new passport at any participating shop, but only the stamps on the passport you turn in will count toward raffle entries.
